When I made the resolution to “Be More Polished” I didn’t technically mean nails polished. (I just made that graphic up there to mess with ya)! I could’ve maybe worded it, “Appear More Put Together” or something. For example, there have been many mornings in the past where I dressed in the dark, did my makeup in the car, and let my hair air dry on the way to work…I’m pretty sure I didn’t look like I had myself very together those days. I guarantee I didn’t looked polished. That state of appearance definitely has an effect on my state of mind, so I’m working on changing it!
So many days I have looked down at my nails on the keyboard by midday and thought, “Why do my nails look so bad?? What have I been doing today!?” But really, they were probably pretty close to bad in the morning and I just didn’t notice. I wasn’t really keeping up with filing them or getting regular manicures. Plus, I feel like I wash my hands a million times a day so they are super dry on top of everything else.
Not this year! My first nail goal is to start using what I have (another resolution!) in the nail polish department of my bathroom. There is a LOT there that has remained unused. I have tons from the drugstores thanks to my couponing and I really shouldn’t by anymore…for awhile. 😉
I could stare at all of the colors for an hour and not pick one…perhaps this is my my nails have remained unpainted so much in the past. This time I’m grabbing inspiration (yet another resolution) from social media. I follow Essie on Instagram and want to buy every color that pops up from them, but I can’t. So, for now, I’m trying to find the closest color I have to whatever their latest pic is whenever it’s time to paint my nails. I’m done overthinking it!
While I’ll still be adding the Essie color to my wish list, I think this did the trick for now. And amount of time saved selecting a color? 55 minutes. That’s enough free time to…paint my nails!
What color did you pick this week?
